golden good morning

Today, I woke up early in the morning nearly at 4:30 am and walked  to my friends, rakesh and pawan 's room 546 where the great trio(pawan, rakesh and our dear vinay sir for few months) used to live.I recalled my old time when i used to come to their room early in the morning (in hindi POO PHATTHE HI) and then turned on their radio and used to listen vividh  bharti programme 'gane naye purane' and 'bhule bisre geet' which were normally based on some RAAG and used to try to mix my voice with the singer and they helplessly ,forced to listen the songs and then my friends used to start shouting on me by saying "subah subah paka mat yaar aur tujhe chahiye to ye radio apne room par le ja" and so on.Today when i remember those time , their words hit my ears. We used to go for morning walk but rarely..hahahahaa . We used to discuss so many things apart from our study...almost everything...common or personal.nothing was hidden between us.now when i wake up early in morning and go for walk, then everything on the roadside reminds me about them...the mango tree, dried fields,under-constructed buildings, nearby village and the ROAD which is the witness of our morning walk.Gonna are the golden days only memory is left. This walk is incomplete without my roommate sarvesh. His routine was very regular. We also went for walk together some times and had a great time together.I know that the time will not repeat itself to give us a chance again to enjoy those moments but still I hope ,we will spend time together one day and I am sure that some other road is waiting for us to share the time together once again... AMEN

Environmental impact of tsunami

A ferocious tsunami spawned by one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded slammed Japan's eastern coast Friday, killing thousands of people as it swept away boats, cars and homes while widespread fires burned out of control.

Environmental impact of tsunami
The magnitude 8.9 offshore quake unleashed a 23-foot tsunami and was followed by more than 300 aftershocks for days, many of them of more than magnitude 6.0.
The pictures of sea water swamping Japan led one to hark back to the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. While the final death toll will never be known, an estimated 250,000 persons have perished in the Boxig Day tsunami that year, majority of them women and children.
And as the Japanese cope with the current situation and focus on search and rescue efforts, they will soon have to deal with the very real and severe environmental effects of the tsunami. Here's what they need to brace up for:
Environmental impact of tsunami

Solid waste and disaster debris:
There will be a huge amount of disaster debris to deal with. In the 2004 tsunami it was far beyond the coping capacities of the cities and towns that were affected. Disposing these wastes in an environmentally appropriate manner, and recycling the waste where possible (for example, crushing of concrete and brick to produce aggregate for road and building construction) will be critical priorities.
Add to this the problem of sorting hazardous and toxic materials that have been inadvertently mixed up with ordinary debris. These may include asbestos, oil fuel, and other industrial raw materials and chemicals. Going by the 2004 tsunami experience, rapid clean-up of affected areas also resulted in inappropriate disposal methods, including air burning and open dumping, leading to secondary impacts on the environment.
Environmental impact of tsunami
Contamination of soil and water:

Salination of water bodies such as rivers, wells, inland lakes, and groundwater aquifers will be a major problem that the Japanese will face. This will also have a major impact on soil fertility of agricultural lands, due to salination and debris contamination, which will affect yields in the medium and long term. Learning from the 2004 tsunami, many water bodies were contamination by damaged or destroyed septic tanks and toilets, with sewage infiltrating the water supply system.
In the 2004 tsunami, UNEP reported extensive damage to environmental infrastructure, buildings and industrial sites. These include water and sanitation systems, solid waste disposal sites and waste treatment centers, particularly in urban areas (Maldives, Sri Lanka and Indonesia). Oil storage facilities released oil and wastes into the environment, which were not handled properly during the initial clean-up (Maldives and Indonesia).
Environmental impact of tsunami
Radiation resulting from damage to nuclear plants:
While health officials in Japan are distributing iodine tablets as a precaution as iodine protects against radiation- induced cancer, many scientists and experts have warned that a disaster in the stricken nuclear planst could be on the scale of Chernobyl where the reactor core melted and radioactive fallout were discharged into the air, harming civilians living at a relatively great distance from the reactor.
Since radiation exists for a long time, it has the capacity to inflict damage upon anything exposed to it. The most dangerous effect of radiation on the environment is damage to humans and animals. Radiation can destroy any type of molecule by causing it to lose electrons. Radioactivity can damage DNA leading to cancers, birth defects, and even death.

Even God has a Sense of Humour

God was in the process of creating the universe.

And he was explaining to his subordinates

"Look everything should be in balance.

For example, after every 10 deer there should be a lion.

Look here my fellow angels, here is the country of the United States.

I have blessed them with prosperity and money.

But at the same time I have given them insecurity and tension....

And here is Africa. I have given them beautiful nature.

But at the same time, I have given them climatic extremes.

And here is South America. I have given them lots of forests.

But at the same time, I have given them lesser land so that they would

have to cut off the forests...

So you see fellows, everything should be in balance.

One of the angels asked...

"God, what is this extremely beautiful country here?"

God said....... "Ahah...that is the crown piece of all. "INDIA",

My most precious creation.

It has understanding and friendly People.

Sparkling streams and serene mountains.

A culture which speaks of the great tradition that they live.

Technologically brilliant and with a heart of gold.....

The angel was quite surprised:

"But god you said everything should be in balance."

God replied --

"Look at the neighbours I gave them."
